{"id":3004,"date":"2020-09-04T12:22:02","date_gmt":"2020-09-04T12:22:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/content.theoneoff.com\/2020\/09\/04\/issue-048\/"},"modified":"2020-09-04T12:22:02","modified_gmt":"2020-09-04T12:22:02","slug":"issue-048","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/content.theoneoff.com\/2020\/09\/04\/issue-048\/","title":{"rendered":"Issue #048"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Welcome to your weekly dose of TOO x TOO \u2013 Featuring Pret&#8217;s subscription service, Selfridges secondhand september, Lego x Adidas and Dettol&#8217;s viral campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Coffee on subscription<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pret a Manger, one business hard hit by the coronavirus pandemic has today launched a subscription service for customers looking to get their coffee fix.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">YourPret Barista is part of a new loyalty strategy which the brand hope will get them back on their feet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Briony Raven, Pret\u2019s director of coffee and packaging, said the scheme aimed to help persuade customers to see Pret as the default choice, in the same way they do other subscription services such as Netflix.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For the fixed monthly fee of \u00a320 a customer can select any \u201cbarista prepared\u201d drink from a skinny soya latte to a smoothie, using their phone to access the subscription, up to five times a day, seven days a week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Selfridge\u2019s \u2018Secondhand September\u2019<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As part of their \u2018Project Earth\u2019 campaign, Selfridges have teamed up with charity Oxfam to launch an exclusive pop-up in their London store during September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Opening in time to celebrate Oxfam\u2019s \u2018Secondhand September\u2019 the pop-up will provide opportunity for shoppers to find second hand, one-of-a-kind fashion picks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Secondhand September campaign fronted by actress and screenwriter Michaela Coel encourages shoppers everywhere to only buy second hand items for the whole month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The pop-up promises to feature 1970s dresses to trench coats and rare vintage pieces whilst also lowering the environmental fashion footprint \u2013 giving fashion and accessories a second life<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">LEGO X Adidas<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Known for taking on interesting collaborations, adidas Orignials have teased an upcoming team-up with LEGO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the short teaser video, we are shown a shoebox made of LEGO pieces which offers a brief look at a take on the ZX 8000 shoe with some LEGO inspired touches\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Dettol\u2019s Viral Campaign<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A campaign by Dettol has this week received backlash for its depiction of returning to the office as lockdown measures continue to ease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Created by McCann, the ad attempts to detail aspects of office life that the public may be missing while working at home, including \u201cputting on a tie\u201d, \u201cthe boss\u2019s jokes\u201d and \u201cproper bants\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ad which has been spotted across the London Underground network \u2013 quickly garnered strong reactions from commuters for describing the return to the office as \u201cseeing your second family\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Trainspotting<\/em>&nbsp;author Irvine Welsh was quick to join the banter by sharing the post alongside the caption \u201cchoose death\u201d \u2013 a riff on his novel\u2019s popular opening monologue.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Coffee on subscription, Selfridge&#8217;s &#8216;Secondhand September&#8217;, LEGO x Adidas &#038; Dettol&#8217;s viral campaign<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":12,"featured_media":2843,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"inline_featured_image":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[8],"tags":[4],"class_list":["post-3004","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-too-x-too","tag-too"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v22.3 -
