{"id":3093,"date":"2021-06-18T13:23:08","date_gmt":"2021-06-18T13:23:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/content.theoneoff.com\/2021\/06\/18\/issue-067\/"},"modified":"2021-06-18T13:23:08","modified_gmt":"2021-06-18T13:23:08","slug":"issue-067","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/content.theoneoff.com\/2021\/06\/18\/issue-067\/","title":{"rendered":"Issue #067"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Welcome to your weekly dose of\u202fTooXToo,\u202fthis week, with Pride month in full swing, we&nbsp;take a look&nbsp;at some of the brands who are celebrating the LGBTQ&nbsp;community.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In recent years,&nbsp;Pride&nbsp;month has become an opportunity for brands to show their solidarity, but for many it has become a calendar moment \u2013 we are looking at you &#8211; M&amp;S \u2018LGBT Sandwich\u2019. However, 2021 see\u2019s initiatives which are instead steeped in protest, change and power. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Gap\u2019s authentic representation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gap\u2019s current Pride ad campaign&nbsp;features a cast of six including an activist, dancer and musician and Bryan Oliver, one of its own district managers. The brand made the decision to recruit a group of diverse and authentic people, showing that choosing the most popular influencers isn\u2019t always the best approach. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The campaign runs alongside the brands ongoing \u2018spirit of activism\u2019 collaborations where designs are&nbsp;created for specific communities by the&nbsp;community itself.\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span data-migration-original-font-size=\"1rem\"> <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/f.hubspotusercontent30.net\/hubfs\/8613030\/MicrosoftTeams-image%20(5)-1.png\" alt=\"MicrosoftTeams-image (5)-1\" width=\"1114\" loading=\"lazy\" style=\"width: 100%;\" data-migration-original-width=\"1114px\"\/><\/span><span data-migration-original-font-size=\"1rem\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/f.hubspotusercontent30.net\/hubfs\/8613030\/MicrosoftTeams-image%20(7)-1.png\" alt=\"MicrosoftTeams-image (7)-1\" width=\"1124\" loading=\"lazy\" style=\"width: 100%;\" data-migration-original-width=\"1124px\"\/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/f.hubspotusercontent30.net\/hubfs\/8613030\/MicrosoftTeams-image%20(6)-2.png\" alt=\"MicrosoftTeams-image (6)-2\" width=\"1134\" loading=\"lazy\" style=\"width: 100%;\" data-migration-original-width=\"1134px\"\/><br \/><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Reebok&nbsp;partner with&nbsp;Colorful&nbsp;Souls and Gay Times&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Reebok are celebrating Pride by&nbsp;promoting a Pride footwear collection designed by&nbsp;Colorful&nbsp;Soles (its internal LGBTQ worker group) with a 60-second spot paying homage to the \u2018House of Ninja\u2019&nbsp;collective \u2013 born out of a \u2018ballroom\u2019.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The campaign video celebrates voguing and its significance in creating&nbsp;safe spaces for people to express their identity.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Reebok is also&nbsp;partnering with Gay Times on a project, In Your Hometown which follows&nbsp;a number of&nbsp;LGBTQ teenagers in Northern cities across the UK. The imagery captured as part of the campaign will be featured across the Gay Times and Reebok portfolios.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span data-migration-original-font-size=\"1rem\"> <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/f.hubspotusercontent30.net\/hubfs\/8613030\/MicrosoftTeams-image%20(8)-1.png\" alt=\"MicrosoftTeams-image (8)-1\" width=\"1124\" loading=\"lazy\" style=\"width: 100%;\" data-migration-original-width=\"1124px\"\/><\/span><span data-migration-original-font-size=\"1rem\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Balenciaga stick to what they know&nbsp;best<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Balenciaga, infamous for their logo parodies and meme inducing clothing have stuck to what they know best for Pride month.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They have created a Pride hoodie mimicking Gap\u2019s logo range, with campaign ads shot in tourist&nbsp;locations around the globe.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"2524\" height=\"1408\" src=\"https:\/\/content.theoneoff.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/TOOHBM_BlogAsset_077.png\" class=\"wp-image-2542\" srcset=\"https:\/\/content.theoneoff.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/TOOHBM_BlogAsset_077.png 2524w, https:\/\/content.theoneoff.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/TOOHBM_BlogAsset_077-650x363.png 650w, https:\/\/content.theoneoff.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/TOOHBM_BlogAsset_077-850x474.png 850w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 2524px) 100vw, 2524px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Skittles give back the rainbow&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gay Times and LGBT&nbsp;Switchboard charity helpline&nbsp;have worked with the&nbsp;Skittles&nbsp;brand&nbsp;(whose usual packaging famously features a rainbow)&nbsp;to partner&nbsp;on a project&nbsp;which has been created to give something&nbsp;back.&nbsp;<br \/><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ad series features black and white photographs taken in the 1970s with elements recoloured,&nbsp;alongside the tagline: \u201cDuring Pride, only one rainbow deserves to be seen\u2019.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/f.hubspotusercontent30.net\/hubfs\/8613030\/MicrosoftTeams-image%20(11).png\" alt=\"MicrosoftTeams-image (11)\" width=\"2410\" loading=\"lazy\" style=\"width: 100%;\" data-migration-original-width=\"2410px\"\/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/f.hubspotusercontent30.net\/hubfs\/8613030\/MicrosoftTeams-image%20(10).png\" alt=\"MicrosoftTeams-image (10)\" width=\"2408\" loading=\"lazy\" style=\"width: 100%;\" data-migration-original-width=\"2408px\"\/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>TOOXTOO #067<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":12,"featured_media":2929,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"inline_featured_image":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[8],"tags":[4],"class_list":["post-3093","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-too-x-too","tag-too"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v22.3 -
