The impact of the pandemic has influenced a turning point in the way we view work and more importantly,&nbsp;what we&nbsp;now&nbsp;expect from the physical workplace.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Research has shown that&nbsp;future office spaces will need to work harder to fulfil expectations, both socially and economically.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Throughout&nbsp;the duration of our research the expectation that workplaces in future will need to&nbsp;look outwards&nbsp;is clear. New strategies will be about&nbsp;creating a more engaging relationship with the&nbsp;local community&nbsp;and providing wellbeing and entertainment for employees.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1990\" height=\"1492\" src=\"https:\/\/content.theoneoff.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/TOOHBM_BlogAsset_083.png\" class=\"wp-image-2548\" srcset=\"https:\/\/content.theoneoff.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/TOOHBM_BlogAsset_083.png 1990w, https:\/\/content.theoneoff.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/TOOHBM_BlogAsset_083-650x487.png 650w, https:\/\/content.theoneoff.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/TOOHBM_BlogAsset_083-850x637.png 850w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1990px) 100vw, 1990px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Below we share some of the facts and figures that we encountered during this research.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The overall consumer preference is towards splitting working lives between home and office. The majority (52%) of US workers say they would prefer a hybrid model, and those already working this way report positive impacts on creativity, problem solving and team\u202frelationships \u2013 trumping both full-time WFH and office modes across six metrics (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gensler.com\/research-insight\/gensler-research-institute\/us-workplace-survey-2020-summer-fall\">Gensler<\/a>, 2020).&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Three days a week in-office post-pandemic was the most popular choice among US workers (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pwc.com\/us\/en\/library\/covid-19\/us-remote-work-survey.html\">PwC<\/a>, 2021).&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Only 7% of Brits want to return to an office full-time (<a href=\"https:\/\/workplaceinsight.net\/only-seven-percent-of-uk-workers-want-to-return-to-the-office-full-time\/\">YouGov<\/a>, 2020)&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1986\" height=\"1400\" src=\"https:\/\/content.theoneoff.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/TOOHBM_BlogAsset_084.png\" class=\"wp-image-2549\" srcset=\"https:\/\/content.theoneoff.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/TOOHBM_BlogAsset_084.png 1986w, https:\/\/content.theoneoff.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/TOOHBM_BlogAsset_084-650x458.png 650w, https:\/\/content.theoneoff.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/TOOHBM_BlogAsset_084-850x599.png 850w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1986px) 100vw, 1986px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the post-Covid world, buildings will be seen as a first line of defence against disease. A healthy building will go from a \u2018nice-to-have\u2019 to a competitive \u2018must-have\u2019.\u2019&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Joseph G. Allen &amp; John D.
